FIAT PROFESSIONAL TAKES CENTRE STAGE AT THE DÜSSELDORF CARAVAN SALON

The 2019 edition of the Düsseldorf Caravan Salon, one of the world’s most eagerly awaited events in the recreational vehicles sector, has just ended.
Fiat Professional returned to this year’s exhibition with the first unveiling of its new Fiat Ducato MY 2020, the evolution of the brand's best-seller. Among the new features of the latest model is the advanced "9 Speed" automatic transmission, best-in-class in terms of weight and drive torque. Also making its hotly anticipated début was the new Euro 6d-TEMP engine range, with four power ratings.
Visitors at the event in Germany were able to view numerous motorhomes on a Ducato chassis, exhibited in different stands by motorhome manufacturers. In particular, the FCA stand (D42- hall 16) showcased four examples of the chassis bases supplied to caravan producers for conversion into motorhomes. They included a high roof van version, a chassis cab and a back-to-back show vehicle consisting of two Ducato Maxi tractor bases, with the tractor cab visible at one end and a chassis cowl, the basis for A-Class motorhomes, at the other.
The display at the Fiat Professional stand was completed by a number of themed islands offering information about the new powerplants, the nine-speed automatic transmission and the services offered to owners of motorhomes on a Fiat base.
The new model's two biggest innovations were presented at the show, delighting customers in the recreational vehicle sector:
- The nine-speed automatic transmission, which delivers an even more relaxed, pleasant driving experience, while optimising fuel efficiency in every situation
- The new Euro 6d-TEMP engine range, which includes four power ratings: 120, 140, 160 and 180 HP All horsepowers feature Multijet technology 2, delivering improved efficiency and fuel saving
The most advanced drive assistance systems for safe, carefree journeys were also presented, alongside motorhome-specific suspensions and a series of features to guarantee superlative comfort.
