Ducato continues its unbroken sequence of international awards by fighting off big-name competitors to win the title of "Best Motorhome Base 2020" for the 13th consecutive time. This coveted award is assigned by the readers of "Promobil", the German specialist magazine that has provided a major reference point in the recreational vehicle sector for more than 25 years.
Produced since 1981 at the Sevel plant in Val di Sangro, Ducato has evolved—with MY 2020—to respond more closely to every professional need and also incorporates major innovations for the Ducato motorhome base version, aiming to further consolidate its undisputed leadership in the sector. Over the past ten years, more than 500,000 European households have chosen a Ducato-based motorhome, confirming an extraordinary Italian success story.
Among the major innovations is the new "9Speed" automatic transmission, which ensures a relaxed and pleasant driving experience, while improving performance and optimising fuel consumption in any situation. In addition, one of the strengths of Ducato-based motorhomes has always been the engine range, which now also includes the new 2.3-litre Euro 6d-TEMP diesel engine, a solid and long-lasting power unit that guarantees automotive performance and comfort, and which is available in four power outputs: 120, 140, 160 and 180 HP. All horsepowers feature Multijet 2 technology and the units have specific construction features such as the design of the turbocharger, pistons and fluid dynamics. Finally, for safe and peaceful journeys, the most advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are available, as well as specific suspension for motorhomes and a long list of equipment that ensures maximum comfort.
