Expo 2015, camper stopovers

Expo 2015, camper stopovers

In collaboration with Driving Expo 2015

It is advisable to get to Expo 2015 by public transport, after leaving your camper in a guarded parking area or camping site. The Expo parking areas do not allow overnight parking and have to be booked in advance. If you use public transport, on the other hand, you are transported right to the entrance gates or walkways. By Metro, take the number 1 Line towards Rho Fiera Milano Expo. In this case you need to get a suburban ticket. By train, the stop is called Rho Fiera Milano, which can be reached on suburban lines S5-S6, the new S14 from Rogoredo and the S11. Trains on regional lines from Arona, Domodossola, Varese and Turin will also stop in the same station. High speed trains will stop at the Triulza Ovest (West) Expo Site entrance.

One of the best options if you're travelling by motorcaravan is the Milano Camper Park, situated in the heart of Milan, a short walk from the modern Porta Nuova, well served by transport and connected with the Expo site. Here you can choose your best solution for staying in Milan, with three pitch options: the ultra equipped Premium, for the biggest motorhomes or those who want maximum comfort, or the Superior, offering electricity and enough space to open the veranda, or the more economic pitch, the Standard.  The whole Camping Park is illuminated, guarded and accessible 24 hours a day, complete with camper service, play areas for children and green spaces for dogs. From here, you're spoilt for choice on ways to get to EXPO by public transport. The parking site is just a few hundred metres from the station of Porta Garibilaldi and also from the Linea Gialla/Yellow Line station, while just outside the Park gates you'll find the stop for Tram-line 4, which takes you to the centre. An ideal way to reach the numerous Expo in Città events. Information: www.milanocamperpark.com.

Situated not far from the Fiera site and the city centre, less than 3 km from the San Siro Stadium, is the Camping Village Città di Milano, a 4-star site with multiple modern services: bar, restaurant-pizzeria, picnic area, paying shuttle bus service for 8 people, 50 bungalows of various capacities, 244 pitches for tents or campers, a games room, a laundry, sporting equipment and a small farm animal zoo. On the occasion of EXPO 2015, the Parco Esposizioni Novegro offers camper drivers well-equipped pitches in its protected park of 100,000 square metres, with the following services: bar-restaurant, bathrooms, water discharge and intake, security surveillance and assistance. Really close to EXPO 2015 there is the Area Sosta Camper Expo which offers 50 pitches with camper service, 220V attachment, water loading and security surveillance. For information: www.areacamperexpo.it

For those interested in somewhere more tranquil: immersed in 32 hectares of countryside, Morali & C. This Camper Park has over 100 pitches with water and electric connections, a restaurant seating 300 people, a large snack bar, a Spa and relaxation area, a nursery, children's swimming pool, gym etc. It also provides evening piano bar entertainment and night-time equestrian shows.
