Next-generation ESP (ninth generation) is available on the New Ducato with Traction Plus.
ESP, the electronic stability control system, secures extra safety and enhances the well known handling of your Ducato.
A sophisticated electronic system "supervises" the stability of your motorhome without you even noticing and in toughest conditions helps you maintain perfect control of your vehicle.
ESP
ESP includes many devices that will help your drive better, with more safely and comfort:
- ASR (Anti Slip Regulation - helps avoid slipping when starting off)
- Hill holder (easier to start uphill)
- LAC (Load Adaptive Control – improves stability when the load is not distributed uniformly)
- HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist – extra braking force for emergency situations)
- MSR (Motor Schleppmoment Regelung – helps avoiding slipping when you shift down too quickly)
- ABS (Antilock Braking System – prevents skidding when braking) always standard, even without ESP.
Traction Plus, easy tackling of different terrain
In combination with ESP you can choose Traction Plus which will help you tackle difficult terrain.
This system is electronic and adds no extra weight to your Ducato.
Starting off on dewy grass in the morning, for instance, simply press the button on the dashboard and Traction Plus will transfer torque to the front wheel with the best grip.
You can start off easily and tackle situations which could otherwise become complicated.
The system may be activated only up to 30 km/h.
